English social classes by today

Today in England, the social class system haven’t change a lot. It is always composed of three classes ; the Upper Class, the Middle Class and the Working Class.

What are the changes in this system ? Simply the name of the different classes and a bit the composition too.

The upper class is always composed of the families with inherited wealth. They are the aristocrats.

Today, they are defined by their education and pastimes (hunting, shooting, fishing and horse riding).

The middle class represent today the majority of the Britain population. It’s composed of industrialist, professionals, business people and shop owners.

The working class represent the others people as the agricultural, the mine and the factory workers.

We can notice that in this social class system, the clergy has disappear. We can explain that by the lower impact of the religion and the clergy in Europe today.

All these social classes can be easily distinguish by their different way of speaking, by their different clothes, their interest, the education they give and receive and also by what they eat.

The social classes in England have already a very strong influence on the population ; they don’t mix the class and it’s very bad for the image to be friend with people coming from lower or upper classes.
